"ALTRES Medical, an Employer I Can Depend On!"  Kelly Ashburn is on her second assignment as a travel nurse with ALTRES Medical. Originally from New York, Ashburn has been a nurse for four years and is currently working in the medical surgery department at one of Hawaii's largest hospital facilities. She first heard about ALTRES Medical through an ad in a medical travel magazine and was attracted to the company because it was locally owned and operated. She explained that working with a local-based travel nursing company (rather than national-based one) helps out tremendously on many levels. For example, "if I have a problem, I can just knock on ALTRES' door or just give them a call. There is always a live person at the other end of the line available to me 24/7," said Ashburn.Not only does ALTRES Medical provide their services 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, but they personally handle all relocation and housing accommodations, which is another reason why Ashburn chose ALTRES Medical. Normally, travel nursing companies outsource their housing, using other companies to find places for their nurses to stay. Because of this, the nursing company might never get to see the condition of the accommodations or the neighborhood it is located in. According to Sue Martin, general manager for ALTRES Medical, "One of our top priorities is to ensure that our nurses are kept safe and are comfortable where they're settled in." Ashburn enjoys doing all sorts of outdoor activities, such as going to the beach and that's a fringe benefit that few other travel nursing companies can offer! |
