2019 is a big year for us at ALTRES! We are celebrating 50 years in business and will be marking our golden anniversary with special events all year long. We thank all of you who have made it possible for us to grow and thrive together for over half a century!
The year kicked off for us with ALTRES Day proclamations by the State of Hawaii and City and County of Honolulu. Meanwhile, our Pearl City office moved to a larger, new location in Aiea (come say hi!). Finally, our sister company simplicityHR by ALTRES is offering Hawaii startups free payroll and human resources services for a year, with our new simplicityHR Service Grants.

ALTRES Day January 18, 2019
The State of Hawaii and the City of Honolulu both proclaimed January 18th, 2019 as ALTRES Day. The occasion recognizes ALTRES as a leader in Hawaii’s business community. Employees of ALTRES marked the date with cake and by wearing the ALTRES signature red.
ALTRES and simplicityHR by ALTRES remain second-generation, kama‘āina businesses under CEO Barron Guss whose father, Bill Guss, founded the company on the goal of “making business simple.”
“We’re so excited to have achieved this milestone, and honored that both the State and the City named January 18, 2019 ALTRES Day,” said ALTRES CEO Barron Guss. “We expect to make many announcements this year showing our appreciation for the people and the businesses of Hawaii who have made this possible.”

New Industrial Staffing Location in Aiea
We are very excited to announce that our new office is officially open in Aiea. After 24 years, we’ve closed the doors at our Pearl City office for a larger more convenient space in the Waimalu Shopping Plaza, by Starbucks.
The new office allows us to better serve the industrial employees and clients on the Leeward side. Stop by anytime if you are in the area to say hi!

Service Grant Helps Hawaii Startups
ALTRES is active in Hawaii’s local community, donating hundreds of thousands of dollars over the years to worthy causes, disaster relief, and fundraising drives. In the spirit of contributing to a thriving business community in Hawaii and in celebration of our 50th anniversary, ALTRES has launched the simplicityHR Service Grant program.
This program provides new, small businesses with complimentary human resources services for a full calendar year through simplicityHR by ALTRES. Businesses interested in applying should visit https://www.simplicityhr.com/grant/.
“We know how hard it can be as our company, too, has ridden the roller coaster of prosperity due to the economy and the daily pressures that unexpectedly come your way,” Guss said.
“This new simplicityHR Service Grant is the best way for us to help young companies, by taking the headache of payroll, benefits and HR compliance off their plate and allow them to focus on successfully building their business.”
