We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Systems Analyst to join a local company in the health insurance sector. The ideal candidate will act as a crucial intermediary between various departments, vendors, and the company's Information Technology Systems. This role involves translating high-level business requirements into functional specifications, managing application changes, and providing essential support for application systems. The Business Systems Analyst will use diverse platforms to deliver automated solutions, conduct quality assurance testing, gather and analyze requirements, and support a range of IT devices and systems.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver tier 1 and tier 2 support to resolve application and technical issues.
  • Conduct unit testing to ensure application functionality.
  • Act as the primary contact for assigned applications, collaborating with users and IT staff to resolve issues.
  • Analyze and document business processes to drive process improvements or system implementations.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications and explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Develop and facilitate end-user training materials and support the adoption of new processes.
  • Perform coding for application interfaces to enhance data exchange efficiency, adhering to industry standards such as ASTM and FHIR.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of application systems and prepare procedural guidelines.
  • Evaluate and recommend enhancements to business unit processes based on system usage analysis.
  • Serve as the System Administrator for supported applications.
  • Work with vendors and stakeholders to oversee the acquisition, implementation, and maintenance of information systems.
  • Collaborate with departments to select and implement information systems that meet their needs.
  • Advocate for departmental interests in information systems within the IT and user departments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications or training in Business Analysis or IT Support is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and IT systems.
  • Proficiency in unit testing, application support, and system documentation.
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into understandable terms for various stakeholders.
  • Experience with coding, system interfacing, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with system administration and vendor management.
