A local healthcare company is seeking an accounting professional to join their team as an Accounts Receivable Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for managing medical billing which includes processing denials for multiple clients/financial classes, running aging reports, handling periodic audits and ensuring all claims are paid in a timely fashion.
The ideal candidate will have 3 years of medical billing and accounts receivable experience and previous experience with medical billing software and practice management systems.

$20 to $23 an hourResponsibilities
- Process medical claims in a timely fashion.
- Manage claim denials and identify denial cause. Where applicable, correct and refile claims.
- Prepare A/R reports, credit balance reports, and other relevant financial documents.
- Ensure that all billing practices are compliant with federal regulations, including HIPAA, and maintain accurate documentation of all AR-related activities.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in medical billing and accounts receivable, with a focus on general healthcare services.
- Previous experience with medical billing software and practice management systems.
- Certification in medical billing or coding.
- Familiarity with Retina, EPIC, NextGen, or similar platforms is a plus.
- Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Ability to multitask and problem-solve.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
