Currently seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Payroll Specialist. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong clerical background who’s looking to grow their career in payroll and accounting or a seasoned payroll specialist.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4pm

Location

Hilo, Big Island

Pay

$19 an hour, Pay is negotiable depending on experience

Responsibilities

  • Assist with processing payroll accurately and on time.
  • Maintain employee payroll records and data integrity.
  • Provide clerical support, including data entry, filing, and document preparation.
  • Assist with payroll reporting and reconciliation tasks.
  • Support accounts payable/receivable functions as needed.
  • Work closely with the accounting team on basic bookkeeping tasks.
  • Respond to payroll-related inquiries in a professional manner.

Qualifications

  • Strong clerical background (typing, document handling, filing, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Basic office skills, including familiarity with email and office equipment.
  • Exposure to or interest in payroll, bookkeeping, AR/AP, or general accounting.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • State and Federal background check required.
