Underwriting Support Specialist

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Underwriting Support Specialist to join their team. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to learn, highly organized, and ready to grow their career in mortgage operations and underwriting. You’ll start as a processor, supporting the preparation, review, and coordination of loan files, while learning the fundamentals of underwriting. With proven performance, this role offers a clear path toward becoming a Junior Underwriter.

$55,000 to $60,000 a year

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare loan files with accuracy and efficiency
• Review documentation for completeness and compliance with lending guidelines
• Communicate with clients, loan officers, and third parties to obtain required information
• Maintain and update loan records in the company’s processing systems
• Assist with operational tasks to support smooth workflow across the team
• Collaborate with underwriting staff to learn file analysis and credit review processes
• Prepare conditions and gather additional information as required for underwriting decisions
• Ensure deadlines are met while maintaining a high level of quality and compliance

Qualifications

• Previous experience in mortgage processing, banking, or related administrative/financial role preferred
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple files and priorities in a deadline-driven environment
• Clear, professional communication skills—both written and verbal
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable learning new systems
• Desire to develop underwriting skills and grow within the mortgage industry
