The Clinical Staff Trainer is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive training program for collections staff, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and internal procedures. This role combines training, quality oversight, and operational support to ensure safe, effective, and professional donor/patient services. The trainer will also serve as a subject matter expert, provide ongoing competency assessments, and support process improvements across the department.

- Develop, deliver, and evaluate training programs, materials, and competency assessments for collections staff.
- Ensure training documentation and records are accurate, secure, and compliant with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct performance audits, identify skill gaps, and design retraining plans where necessary.
- Collaborate with leadership and quality teams to review SOPs, address deviations, and implement corrective actions.
- Facilitate new hire orientation, onboarding, and progression training to ensure readiness for independent responsibilities.
- Support process improvement initiatives by analyzing quality indicators, donor questionnaires, and other performance data.
- Perform donor/patient collection duties as needed, including eligibility assessment, blood/component collection, donor care, and reaction management.
- Serve as a resource and role model, promoting professionalism, customer service, and organizational values.
- Participate in departmental meetings, continuing education, and interdepartmental projects to support operational excellence.
- Maintain CPR certification and act as a safety and compliance resource within the department.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or education in healthcare or quality preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of blood collection or related healthcare experience; prior training or quality experience strongly preferred.
- Current CPR/First Aid certification (must be maintained).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to multiple sites as needed.
- Strong knowledge of training methodologies, quality assurance practices, and healthcare regulations.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and adapt to evolving needs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and related software tools.
