Human Resources Specialist

We are seeking a Human Resources Specialist to join our HR team and provide support across payroll, compliance, and employee services. This role requires a detail-oriented professional who can balance accuracy, confidentiality, and compassion when working with staff. The HR Specialist oversees payroll processes, ensures adherence to policies and labor laws, and provides day-to-day HR support to employees and leadership.

Pay

$60,000 to $65,000 a year

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain payroll systems, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
• Provide administrative and HR support, including employee onboarding, benefits, and records management.
• Ensure compliance with personnel policies, employment laws, and organizational procedures.
• Participate in the design, implementation, and monitoring of HR systems and processes.
• Support investigations, reporting, and policy updates as needed.
• Handle confidential HR matters with discretion, professionalism, and cultural sensitivity.
• Assist with HR projects and process improvement initiatives.
• Partner with leadership to ensure HR practices align with organizational goals and values.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of HR or payroll experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, and employment laws.
• Skilled in payroll administration and HR systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple projects, and maintain confidentiality.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; HRIS/ATS knowledge a plus.
• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional HR training/certifications preferred.
