We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Compliance Coordinator for a Credit Union in Kailua-Kona. The ideal candidate will work closely with the Compliance Officer to ensure the organization adheres to all relevant laws and regulations.

Full-time, Monday to Thursday, 8:30am-4:30pm | Friday, 8:30am-6:00pm

Pay

$52,000 to $74,000 a year

Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing and administering the Verafin program
  • Monitor and evaluate Verafin alerts, taking appropriate action or escalating complex issues
  • Review and stay updated on laws and regulations impacting the Credit Union's compliance requirements
  • Review daily and weekly Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs)
  • Collaborate with the Compliance Officer to prepare and submit Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) to FinCEN
  • Support the implementation of policies, procedures, products, and programs to ensure regulatory compliance
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on compliance-related issues
  • Assist in communicating policy and procedure changes to relevant departments
  • Support the development and implementation of corrective action procedures
  • Help coordinate compliance audits and examinations
  • Assist in revising and designing forms, products, website content, programs, and promotions for regulatory compliance
  • Support the development of compliance training programs
  • Assist compliance auditors and federal examiners during audits and examinations
  • Help develop and implement record retention policies and procedures
  • Monitor and audit various reports, taking necessary actions
  • Assist with testing and implementing new disclosures and agreements

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and logical thinking skills
  • Ability to apply sound decision-making principles and exercise good judgment
  • Familiarity with laws and regulations applicable to Credit Unions
  • Proficiency in researching, understanding, and applying rules, policies, and regulations
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to handle multiple projects
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet programs
  • Knowledge of IBM or IBM-compatible computer systems
  • One-two years of related experience, college degree in a related field preferred
  • Actively working towards Credit Union Compliance Expert (CUCE) certification
  • BSA/AML Certification (required to obtain)
  • Ability to comply with a pre-employment drug test, State and Federal background check
