A technology-focused organization is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Developer to support the design, development, configuration, and enhancement of ServiceNow applications and platform functionality. In this role, you will work closely with business stakeholders and internal technology teams to translate operational needs into scalable, automated workflow solutions. You will contribute across the full development lifecycle — from requirements gathering and technical design to configuration, testing, documentation, and post-deployment support.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, develop, test, and maintain core ServiceNow modules including Incident, Problem, Change, Request, Service Catalog, Knowledge Management, Virtual Agent, Service Portal, and Performance Analytics.
  • Support Customer Service Management applications such as Case Management, Agent Workspace, and self-service portals.
  • Develop custom workflows, business rules, UI actions/policies, scripts, notifications, integrations, and reports.
  • Maintain and enhance CMDB accuracy through Discovery and automation initiatives.
  • Configure integrations with third-party systems using REST, SSO/SAML, LDAP, JDBC/ODBC, and other protocols.
  • Implement and support MID Server functionality for secure data exchange.
  • Perform system upgrades and platform maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to document technical requirements, workflows, use cases, test scenarios, and acceptance criteria.
  • Produce and maintain release notes, user guides, and knowledge base documentation.
  • Support IT service delivery initiatives and continuous platform improvement efforts.
  • Participate in platform optimization activities and cross-functional projects as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
  • 5+ years of professional experience developing, configuring, and implementing ServiceNow solutions in an enterprise environment.
  • Senior-level proficiency in JavaScript with working knowledge of HTML, CSS, SQL, and XML.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL-based service management processes.
  • Advanced experience building workflows, business rules, notifications, assessments, integrations, custom apps, UI elements, and automation solutions.
  • Extensive knowledge of the ServiceNow data model, platform architecture, and administration (including CMS, ACLs, business rules, UI pages/actions/policies, Service Catalog, and workflows).
  • Experience supporting ITSM, CSM, Discovery, ITOM, ITAM, Service Mapping, and Now Mobile modules.
  • Relational database experience (Oracle, MS SQL, or MySQL environments).
  • Experience implementing enterprise integrations (SSO, SAML, LDAP, REST, web services).
  • Ability to document technical requirements, create system workflows, define acceptance criteria, and support user testing.
  • Proven ability to mentor and coach junior developers, contribute to team knowledge growth, and promote best development practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential data with discretion and professionalism.
  • Certifications such as ServiceNow CSA, Application Developer, or ITIL Foundation are desirable.
