The Accountant/Teller is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting daily financial operations for the company. This role ensures the integrity, accuracy, and timely completion of accounting functions while also providing front-facing financial and administrative support. The Accountant/Teller works closely with internal teams to support monthly closings, reporting, compliance, and customer-facing transactions, contributing to smooth financial operations and effective business oversight.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, post, and maintain journal entries in accordance with accounting standards, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
  • Coordinate with Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable staff during the monthly close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Prepare, analyze, and maintain financial records and statements, including trial balances, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Maintain organized and accurate financial documentation to support audits, reviews, and compliance requirements.
  • Provide professional customer service when processing account transactions, including opening and closing accounts, deposits, withdrawals, and responding to inquiries.
  • Assist with the processing of secured and unsecured loans, including new and used vehicle loans, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Process invoices and verify accuracy to ensure timely and correct payments.
  • Generate and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly financial and operational reports, including performing system backups.
  • Conduct regulatory compliance checks, including OFAC and FinCEN verifications.
  • Attend Board of Director meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and provide administrative and clerical support to the Board as needed.
  • Draft correspondence and assist with documentation related to Board activities.
  • Monitor and track office and operational supplies.
  • Cross-train with other positions to provide operational backup and ensure continuity of operations.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support organizational objectives.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or financial operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and monthly close processes.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of internal controls and compliance requirements, or willingness to learn.
  • Flexibility to cross-train and work extended hours during peak periods as needed.
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
