The Database Administrator will be responsible for managing and optimizing databases on Azure SQL and Oracle platforms. This role involves overseeing database performance, ensuring data integrity, and implementing security measures. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with Azure SQL and Oracle databases, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage complex database environments.

This position is primarily remote; however, candidates must be based on Oʻahu due to potential in-office requirements and payroll considerations.

Full-time, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm

Responsibilities

  • Support the reliability and availability of database systems by performing routine maintenance tasks such as backups, restores, and updates.
  • Monitor database performance metrics and proactively identify potential issues.
  • Assist with analyzing and optimizing database queries to enhance performance and efficiency.
  • Help maintain database security by adhering to established best practices and organizational security policies.
  • Create and maintain clear, concise documentation for database procedures and standards.
  • Collaborate closely with developers, system administrators, and other team members to ensure seamless database operations.
  • Stay current with emerging database technologies and industry best practices through continuous learning.

Qualifications

  • 2 years of experience with Azure SQL and Oracle databases, database design, performance tuning, and optimization techniques.
  • Experience with database monitoring and management tools.
  • Must currently reside on O'ahu.
