ALTRES is currently seeking a Technical On-Site Coordinator to join our team and be the liaison between our offshore and onsite software development teams.

This role will oversee software development projects and facilitate communications between teams to ensure that all tasks are completed effectively and on schedule.

The ideal candidate for this role will have at least five years of developer experience and a strong ability to lead teams to move projects from start to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison between the offshore and onsite software development teams.
  • Create project/task estimates and schedules as needed.
  • Use technical ability to research solutions which the offshore team can develop in detail.
  • Guide the offshore team based on the feedback received from the Honolulu team.
  • Learn about the business and the product as well as the development standards/process to become an expert on technical issues.
  • Communicate effectively by ensuring there are no gaps in understanding and both teams are on the same page.
  • Eliminate the backlog of outstanding projects.
  • Review and test the work done by the offshore team to check for requirements, clarity, user interface, standards and optimization before presenting it to the Honolulu team.
  • Perform root cause analysis when there are issues reported along with identifying the corrective and preventive action as part of retrospectives for each sprint, task and project.
  • Develop the offshore team through constant communication, guidance and support for the team to meet the ‘First Time Right’ and ‘On-time Delivery’ goals.
  • Provide feedback on individual team members to the offshore and onsite team managers for better planning and individual career development.

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience performing an onsite coordinator role for a software development company.
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Java web developer. Full stack development experience is a big plus.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. All forms of employment authorizations are acceptable, including but not limited to active work visas (e.g., H-1B, F-1). Out of state candidates are welcome to apply but must be willing to relocate to Hawaii.
  • Willingness to travel to India office for training/collaboration.
  • Ability to work across both time zones (Hawaii Standard Time & Indian Standard Time) based on business needs. This would require availability to include a modified work schedule that may overlap from 5pm HST.
  • Excellent communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) skills.
  • Ability to work with different time zones.
  • Understanding of different phases of software development like Requirement Gathering, Development, Testing etc. and models like Agile/Waterfall.
  • Proficiency in development and review of Java web-based projects and frameworks like Springboot etc.
  • Ability to lead discussions with stakeholders from both offshore and onsite teams with the ability to set a clear agenda and document the outcomes and action items.
  • Ability to follow up on pending items from both the offshore and onsite teams.
  • Ability to clearly present technical information to fellow technical professionals as well as non-technical peers.
