Seeking an HR Manager for a shipping company that's been in business for over 60 years! As the HR Manager your main priority will be ensuring compliance with state and federal labor laws, union contracts and company policies.

The HR Manager will also oversee administration of employee benefits, payroll processing, and HR administrative assistance.

  • Process all employee benefits for union and non-union personnel.
  • Process weekly and semi-monthly payroll with Ceridian.
  • Update personnel files and union contracts.
  • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries for payroll, employee benefits, and bank reconciliation.
  • Assist employees and managers with questions regarding benefits and company policies.
  • Collaborate with insurance company and employees on worker’s compensation and TDI claims.
  • Track OSHA-required data.
  • Assist in the coordination of union contract negotiations.
  • Update Employee Handbook as needed.
  • Produce identification cards for new employees.
  • Onboard and provide safety orientation for new hires.
  • Open and distribute incoming mail.
  • Assist with planning company functions and other administrative duties as needed.


  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resource or 4 years of related experience.
  • Must be familiar with payroll systems, preferably Ceridian.
  • Knowledgeable with State and Federal labor laws.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
