A high-end resort in Kailua-Kona is looking for experienced cooks to join their dynamic culinary team! In this role, you will prepare dishes and ensure the food and presentation meets standard requirements.

Our client is accepting various skill levels and are willing to train as needed.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Sunday, Various shifts (day and evening)

Location

Kailua-Kona, Big Island

Pay

$23 to $26 an hour

Responsibilities

• Set up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment.
• Prepare and check quality of ingredients.
• Cook food in various ways and ensure proper cooking methods.
• Ensure great presentation of dishes before they are served.
• Ensure all food and other items are stored properly.
• Monitor stock and place orders as needed.
• Keep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchen.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a cook.
• Previous experience using cutting tools, cookware and bakeware.
• Knowledge of various cooking procedures and methods (grilling, baking, boiling, etc.)
• Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
• Must be able to lift at least 40 pounds.
• Ability to follow all sanitation procedures.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods of time.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• TB clearance required.
