Resort Engineer I

A resort on the Kona coast is looking for a licensed and experienced maintenance candidate to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for repairing and maintaining all equipment, systems, and fixtures to ensure safe and efficient operations of the facility.

The ideal candidate will be a licensed electrician or refrigeration/HVAC tech and have a minimum of 8 years of general maintenance or building operations experience.

Hours

Full-time, Able to work am or pm shifts any day of the week

Location

Kailua-Kona, Big Island

Pay

$35 to $42 an hour

Responsibilities

• Perform complex carpentry, plumbing, electrical, refrigeration, and/or masonry work.
• Troubleshoot major equipment failures.
• Repair and maintain various types of equipment and systems including refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and gas.
• Operate and maintain equipment and systems including ovens, heaters, pumps, fans, lighting, etc.
• Repair and maintain all finishes, surfaces, decks, walls, doors, windows, cabinets, etc.
• Ensure a safe work environment in assigned work areas.
• Communicate and respond to client needs in a timely manner with regular follow ups.
• Translate and interpret schematics, blueprints, and drawings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Licensed Electrician or Refrigeration/HVAC Tech.
• Minimum 8 years of general maintenance or building operations experience.
• Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
• Strong analytical, organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving skills.
• Must have a valid State of Hawaii driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must be able to lift up to 70lbs.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
