Graphic Design Teachers Aid

Our client is seeking a Graphic Design Teachers Aid to join their team and help support classroom activities and lesson plans, prepare marketing materials, develop logos and images, and give creative input to program participants.

The qualified candidate will have previous experience with coding, drawing, animation, and graphic design, possess strong communication and organizational skills, and can work in a fast-paced environment.

Part-time, Monday to Friday, 10:00am-5:30pm

Pay

$18 an hour

Responsibilities

• Support classroom activities and lesson plans.
• Assess various areas of interest and adjust teaching methods according to learning styles.
• Prepare marketing materials, create print templates, develop logos and images.
• Recommend curriculum designs to help develop new learning activities geared for program participants.
• Attend regularly scheduled meetings and/or briefings with staff, volunteers, and interns to assess classes and improve quality of service.
• Work alongside leadership to prepare reports, as needed.
• Install computer and iPad updates, as needed, and directed.
• Ensure equipment and devices are in good working condition.
• Notify leadership when equipment and devices are lost, stolen, or in need of repair.
• Submit order requests when printing, teaching, and administration supplies are running low.
• Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with coding, drawing, robotics, animation, graphic design, and photography.
• Ability to work with populations of diverse cultures and economically disadvantaged, at-risk youth with varying needs.
• Genuinely interested in working with children.
• Knowledgeable of equipment used for graphic arts and design.
• Multiple or cross discipline skills are a plus.
• Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
• Current CPR/First Aid Certification or ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification within 6 months of hire date.
• Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check.
