Grounds Services Assistant Manager

As the Grounds Services Assistant Manager, you will supervise and direct the day-to-day operation and delivery of grounds keeping services for state, federal, and private contractors throughout Oahu. In this role, you will also train, evaluate, and ensure a safe working environment for staff.

The ideal candidate will have their bachelor's degree, 2 years of grounds maintenance experience, and 1 year of supervisory experience.

Hours

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:00am-4:00pm

Location

Honolulu, Oahu

Pay

$26 to $32 an hour

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee all ground projects.
• Develop and maintain work schedules.
• Train Supervisors on the use proper use of chemicals and equipment.
• Ensure Supervisors train their staff and complete projects in accordance with contractual agreement requirements.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure proper safety gear is being used.
• Maintain equipment and tools.
• Review financial statements, reports, and statistical data.
• Perform monthly facility inspections.
• Assist with the recruitment process.
• Assist with developing the annual budget and ensure projects are delivered on time.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or high school diploma and 5 years of work-related experience. 
• Minimum 2 years of grounds maintenance services experience.
• Minimum 1 year of supervisory or management experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license and clean driver's abstract.
• Must be able to obtain military base access.
• CPR/First Aid Certification (obtain on the job).
• Strong leadership skills.
• Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Ability to pass pre-employment state and federal background check and drug test.
• TB clearance required.
