A local non-profit is seeking a Director of Finance to join their team and be responsible for overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organization. Duties include creating budget strategies, internal control policies, and accounting procedures.

The ideal candidate will have experience overseeing finances at a mid-sized or large business with an annual operating budget of at least $10 million.

Full-time, Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:00pm

Pay

$125,000 to $160,000 a year

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee accounting and financial policies and procedures.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements.
  • Oversee the organizations 401(k) retirement plan and life insurance benefits.
  • Responsible for financial audit and tax matters.
  • Oversee and ensure compliance with contract and regulatory reporting.
  • Provide strategic oversight to improve efficiency and effectiveness of programs across the organization.
  • Serve as a liaison to the City and County of Honolulu administration of City contracts/programs.
  • Ensure legal filings for federal, state, and agency documents are completed in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate budget strategies for the organization and get approval of the annual operating and capital budgets with leadership.
  • Manage banking operations and relationships, cash balances and investment portfolio.
  • Develop and monitor the investment strategy and performance of investment portfolio.
  • Work with investment advisor to ensure assets are invested in accordance with established investment policy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business administration.
  • CPA preferred, but not required.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a supervisory role.
  • Minimum 5 years of proven successful experience in financial management, accounting, investment strategy, and risk management in a mid-sized business with an annual operating budget of $10 million.
  • Previous experience working with legal counsel, investment advisors, and board members.
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems and information technology.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Familiarity with Financial Edge and NXT.
  • Knowledge of FASB 116/117 and GAAP.
  • Must have a valid Hawaii driver's license and clean driving abstract.
  • Strong communication (verbal, written, interpersonal) skills.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, multitasking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
