When you apply at ALTRES Office, we compare your skills and talents to the jobs we have available. During the placement process you will have the opportunity to tell us about your unique background as well as learn more about us. A typical placement process consists of the following steps:

Create an account and “express interest” in jobs online
First, create an account. Once logged in, you can browse our job board and easily “express interest” in jobs by uploading/attaching a resume. You’ll also be asked a few short questions to help us filter out jobs that you don’t want. You can maintain up to five resumes in your account.
Chat with us on the phone
After you express interest, you may receive an email invitation to call us. This is your opportunity to discuss your career goals and help us better understand what you are looking for.

Once we chat, we may ask you to complete an online application and skills assessments. Since our goal is to properly match you to potential open positions, we use these assessments to gain an objective evaluation of your job-related abilities and skills.

 

In-person interview
After completing the online application and skills assessments, you may be eligible for an in-person interview with one of our Personnel Managers to further discuss your career goals, past achievements, and current qualifications.
Matching you with our clients
Businesses hire us to manage their recruiting process. However we don’t make the final hiring decision; our clients do. If you meet our client’s temporary, temp-to-hire, or direct hire requirements, we present you and any other qualified candidates to them, and they determine whom to interview and hire.
You’re hired
Based on your interview, experience, and skills, our client may extend you a job offer or accept you for their temporary assignment.

Unfortunately, we are not able to match everyone with a job. Our advice is to keep in contact with us, continue to check our postings, and express interest in other positions that appeal to you.

Q. What types of positions can I be placed in?
A: Whether you’re seeking permanent or temporary positions, our Personnel Managers have a variety of positions (temporary, temp-to-hire, and direct-hire) to fit what you’re looking for.

Temporary: Temporary positions can be as short as one day or as long as one year. They’re great for those who are in-between jobs, looking for additional income, or seeking to gain a skill. For those entering the workforce, temporary positions can offer valuable hands-on experience and help get your foot in the door.

Temp-to-Hire: Temp-to-Hire positions allow you to “test drive” a position and company before making a decision. This is a great way to determine if the company is a good match.

Direct-Hire (permanent): In the direct-hire process, you’ll interview with us once. That’s all it takes. We’ll match your skills and qualifications with the needs of hundreds of great companies and have you hired directly by our client.

Q. What kinds of companies does ALTRES Office work with?
A: Our specialized approach and more than 45 years of experience gives us the opportunity to work with a variety of companies – from Hawaii’s top 250 to small local businesses.
Q. What kind of work experience do I need?
A: Work experience requirements will vary from job to job and based on the client’s needs. However, we typically require at least one year of current work experience for temporary positions and two years of stable work experience for direct-hire positions.
Q. If I work temporary assignments, how much and when will I get paid?
A. We offer competitive pay rates to all our employees. Pay rates are determined by your experience and skill level, as well as the specific job duties. We pay you on a weekly basis. Contact a Personnel Manager for more info. 
Q. Is there any cost to apply?
A: No. There is never a cost to apply with us, even when we place you in a job. All services are paid for by our clients. 
Q. How long will it take to get a job?
A: We can’t determine how long it will take you to get hired and we cannot guarantee you a job. However, we can guarantee you that we’re working hard to match qualified people with our client’s job openings. Just keep in mind that the final hiring decision is with our client. A candidate can possess all the necessary skills and experience for a position, however our client may not choose him/her. Although we’d like to help every applicant get a job, it’s our clients who make the final hiring decision. 
Q. How can I stay informed about open positions?

Q. Am I obligated to accept a job?
A: No. Whether you’re having us look exclusively or complementing our search with your own, you’re not obligated to work or accept a job offer from us.
